From 8 until 10 October 2009, the South Bohemian town of Písek will become a host of the 9 year of the International Student Film Festival Písek 2009 organized by the Independent Film College in Písek in cooperation with the Film Academy of Miroslav Ondříček. Call for films are made in different film academies all over the world. Traditionally, most of them are of home production followed by films from Germany. Also, very interesting projects come from Argentina, Sweden, and USA. This year the festival cooperates closely with the internet TV Stream.cz where some of the send up movies will be screened to get a support of the audience. The author of the most successful film will then have the opportunity to use Stream as her/his own platform and will get his/her own media profile. The official festival venue is still Portyč Cinema where - apart from the main competition - the grand opening and the final ceremony with prize giving will be held. Here you can also find the centre of accreditation.
